ARCH College of Design and Business, in collaboration with the Women Mentor Forum, organized a panel discussion on "Impact of Design in Handloom Innovation" as part of the Charcha - Creativity Meet. The event focused on preserving and innovating traditional crafts through design, featuring experts from the textile, handloom, and design industries.
Rameshwari Kaul, Co-Founder of Cotton Rack, highlighted handloom's environmental benefits, emphasizing its role in a circular fashion. Soumya Tambi, Founder of Mikhailo, urged designers to bridge the gap between weavers and customers to promote traditional crafts. Dr. Sanjay Agarwal discussed innovative approaches in handloom, particularly with Khadi, while Dr. Anita Lunia stressed the importance of GI tags and fostering connections between weavers and designers through technology.
