Vastra Shastra - The Monument Walk

Arch College of Design & Business, in partnership with Palace School, showcased the spectacular "Vastra Shastra - The Monument Walk". Students from Palace School took center stage, donning garments crafted by the Fashion Design Department of ARCH College. Each ensemble was thoughtfully styled to symbolize the monuments chosen as part of the Education through Monument Project.

At JHF ARCH College of Design and Business took the opportunity to weave the celebration of education through monuments into a dazzling showcase of garments, accessories, and performances - giving rise to 'Vastra Shastra' –the monument walk.

The term 'Vastra' represents clothing, while 'Shastra' embodies armor, seamlessly bridging the realms of fashion, monuments, and history. The event paid homage to four iconic Jaipur monuments - The City Palace, Govind Dev Ji Temple, Kalki Temple, and Isar Lat. The collection drew inspiration from various elements of these landmarks, including silver jars, weaponry such as arrows, bells, peacock feathers, horses, and spiral steps. Ten meticulously crafted garments and accessories were presented, showcasing a blend of techniques such as macramé, hand painting, kirigami, and fabric manipulation.
