ARCH College of Design & Business as Knowledge Partner with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) held the 21st CII India Design Summit, on 8th-10th December 2021. The 3-day event via the CII hive platform was themed "Design for Circular Economy". The Summit is a platform to create an enduring partnership between Government, Industry and Academia, for Design-driven innovation. The virtual event comprised panelists from all fields to reflect the Norman, American Researcher and Director-The Design Lab at the University of California, broader sphere of design influence and deliberate on CIRCULAR ECONOMY's role to bring a globally inclusive sustainable culture. As keynote speaker Prof. Don USA explained the concept of circular economy and emphasized it as a novel pathway to sustainable development. Ms Archana Surana, Founder & Director ARCH College of Design & Business, sat as the panelist discussing "Role of Design Education in Circularity" on 9th December 2021, the second day of the summit. She highlighted the role of Circular Thinking as philosophy and how Circularity is a mindset, outlining educational approaches and tools that institutes can use to accelerate the transition towards a circular economy. Prof. Bhargav Mistry conducted a Workshop on FORM REFORM TRANSFORM emphasizing Circular Design interventions to tackle global challenges. The event is supported by the World Design Organisation (WDO) and Japan is the Partner Country. Japan Institute of Design Promotion, German Design Council, Taiwan Design Research Institute and Design Singapore Council participated as International partners organizations.
