RoundTable Session highlights the importance of ‘Portrayal of women in Media’
A roundtable session was held at ARCH on 3rd August 2018 highlighting how women need to be portrayed in media. Eminent media persons of Rajasthan were a part of this session. Dignitaries who were a part of this session included Cristal Williams Chancellor (Director of Communications for the Women’s Media Center, Washington, D.C.), Conrad Turner (Career Member of the Senior Foreign Service with the rank of Minister Counselor), Mandeep Kaur (All India Principal Program Advisor of Public Affairs Section at the American Embassy) and Archana Surana(Founder and Director ARCH College of Design and Business, a US State Department Alumni and a Vital Voices Inaugural Lead Fellow).
Renu Singh (TV presenter), Shoeb Khan (journalist with the Times of India), Dhirendra Jain (Bureau Chief Lokmat Times), Kartik Bajoria(speaker, columnist, writer), Swati Jain(co-founder F Square Media), Prerna Sahani( Head of City Bhaskar at Dainik Bhaskar), Sangeeta Pranvendra(Political Editor & Chief of Bureau at DNA), Dr. Shilpa Mathur(Senior Journalist who worked with Rajasthan Patrika for 13 years), Nikita Batra(Consultant-Zee Media Corporation Limited), Anubha Jain(writer of a book on Women in Power).
The session focused on improving the way media portrays women and how gender based stereotypes can be done away with to make women realize their true potential and give them the recognition due to them.
