Bachelor
of Visual Arts student at ARCH are taught printing techniques to gear them up
for wants of the industry. A 5-day screen printing workshop was held at ARCH from
7th May to 11th May 11, 2018. Screen printing is a printing technique whereby a
mesh is used to transfer ink onto a substrate, except in areas made impermeable
to the ink by a blocking stencil. Screen printing workshop is an easy way for
students to learn printing techniques. Screen printing has extensive usage in
various industries. It was a new and interesting experience for students and
the first step to look at production. Well-known painters and artists have also
made good use of screen printing technique.

Rohit Paliwal felt that it was a good learning experience. Whereas Harshita
Sharma said, “screen printing workshop is useful, I got a chance to learn
something new.”
