Two of the ARCH students Preetu & Ankita this summer went to the University of Salford, Manchester for a short course in fashion design. The University of Salford is at the heart of the second largest city in the UK: Manchester – a city which is famous for music, culture and the arts, as well as a fabulous place to study. This dynamic and exciting programme has an emphasis on a creative and contemporary approach to fashion. They gain an awareness of the creative fashion process, beginning with the research and development of a design concept leading to making a garment and the creation of individual promotional material. They also learned about styling, marketing and promotion are central to the fashion industry and the role of fashion design and image making. As well as enjoyed a range of activities and trips to cultural centres in the north of England.
